OUR STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Anchor Management values all of our stakeholders and strive to provide them with sufficient information to make enlightened decisions about our business.

Below we will provide an exposition on how we engage with each of our stakeholders after which we will portray our level of engagement with each stakeholder on a Mendelow’s Matrix.

SHAREHOLDERS

We firstly engage with shareholders as they are an integral part of our operations and the continuity of our business. By providing them with shareholder rights we ensure that they are treated in a non preferential manner and therefore boost trust into the relationship.

General meetings are hold annually to ensure direct communication between the business and shareholders by creating a space of mutual understanding and therefore adhering to greater engagement needs. Regulatory news services can also be used to keep shareholders informed.

Shareholder analysis is done periodically of our shareholding profile to ensure that we understand the needs of shareholders so that we can better engage with them. These findings are included in our annual reports to show our commitment to our shareholders. Any queries that our shareholders may have can be directed to our company secretary via email to ensure a direct channel of communication.

GOVERNMENT/REGULATORS

It is very important for us to manage a trusted relationship with the government as our company’s main resource comes from the ocean which is regulated by the government by laws, regulations and permits. To engage with the government we periodically publish integrated reports and focus on good corporate governance while keeping our available information as transparent, understandable and timely as possible. Accurate financial statements are also vital to avoid scandals that can damage relationships with the government. This will give the government a good understanding of our business and what we are doing to protect the environment and our natural resources to ensure trust between the two parties.

By paying our taxes and complying to the limits and regulations the government has set, we also boost trust into our relationship. Through email and the use of websites we open a direct channel of communication with the government as published documents can be accessed easily and new regulations can immediately be taken into account.

MANAGEMENT

Good management is essential for the continuity of our business as directors and managers make key decisions to influence the future of our operations. They can be engaged with by holding board meetings where the needs of the business can be discussed and possible problems can be addressed. These meetings will usually be in the office of the business and is face-to-face to ensure a good understanding of each person’s opinion.

Since they essentially control the financial reports, it is better to engage with them through directors- and management reports as well as other internal reports so that they can make better decisions about the future of the business.

SUPPLIERS

Suppliers can be engaged with through face-to-face agreements about orders or can be engaged with online to complete orders. This can be done through a website or a direct channel via email or the means of communication that they provide. If supplies are promoted via social media this can also be a way to engage with suppliers. Should supplies such as ships be viewed before a purchase face-to-face contact will have to be established to ensure quality control. If supplies should be sold on credit, credit statements should be available to suppliers.

PRESSURE GROUPS (ENVIRONMENT)

Pressure groups can limit the support our business receives from the public and therefore we need to engage with them by showing them how we use resources in a sustainable manner and protect the environment while conducting business.

This can be achieved by sending out questionnaires to relevant parties on how they perceive our participation in preserving the environment. This can be done online through social media interaction. We can also publish our current sustainability projects on our website so that they can obtain relevant information about what we are trying to achieve. If these pressure groups want further information they can also consult our integrated reports which will ensure that they can trust our business.

The media is also a powerful tool when engaging with pressure groups as they can be invited to participate in or view our projects as they take place and receive information about dates and places of these engagements.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES

When attempting a new project, a part of its success lies with consulting local communities on how it will affect them and if they believe it is necessary to start the project. This is done by surveys that are handed out to the community or made available on our website and even face-to-face discussions with members and officials of the community. Since our operations affect the ocean and the ocean life, local communities could want us to preserve this life, especially along the coast, when we catch fish as affluent from our warehouses could affect the environment. It is also our responsibility to help where we can to ensure that local communities do not suffer with unemployment cases.

FUNDERS

Should we require additional funds from investors or bankers, our financial statements and integrated reports should be made available to the public as these funders can then use these documents to make enlightened decisions about whether they should provide our business with the required capital or loans. We can also engage with them through our website by providing useful information about our business and its operations.

TRADE UNIONS

There can be engaged with trade unions face-to-face by having them on the premises to see how our employees are being treated. They are very important as our human capital can be hugely affected by them. Meetings can be arranged with trade unions to discuss relevant information about how we interact with our employees and to build trust between the two parties.

EMPLOYEES

Employees are one of our main stakeholders as they ensure the continuity of our business. To ensure that their interests and needs are heard and reacted upon, surveys and questionnaires can be handed out or made available on our website. Face-to-face conversations can be held with employees to discuss their opinions about the business and whether they feel that our practices are fair.

It is also vital for us to train our employees to reach their full potential through workshops and mentors in the business. If they have any queries they can talk directly to managers or directly communicate with us through our website and email. Staff meetings are very important to engage as well as newsletters. We also have a safe system for whistle blowers to express their concerns.

CUSTOMERS

Our buyers are mainly wholesalers and they can be engaged with in many ways as they are essentially responsible for our revenue streams. We can engage with them through our website, social media and advertisements, that will clearly portray our value proposition to them. To conclude new contracts, meetings and face-to-face interactions take place to ensure them that our business provides fresh anchovies of the highest quality.

If they want to know more about us and to compare us to other companies, they can see our published financial statements and integrated reports.
